Recent changes in the smart home industry will have a major impact on Home Assistant.  How will Home Assistant adjust... or will it?  Who should be the target user of Home Assistant? Or should Home Assistant try to be everything for everybody... and might it doom itself if it tries?

This is not one of my normal how-to or device review videos.  Instead, this is my first (and maybe only) opinion piece.  As a user and fan of Home Assistant, I have some concerns over the current direction of Home Assistant and how that might impact their long-term viability in the smart home market.
